DAY ONE – Arrival Granada Homestay 5 Nights
Granada is a picturesque colonial city that was founded in 1524 by Captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba. Granada is situated next to the Mombacho volcano and sits on the shores of Lake Cocibolca, with over 300 isletas. But without a doubt, its greatest treasures are its people, customs and culture. Interact’s foreign representative will meet you in the airport lobby. Transfer to Granada where you’ll meet your homestay director and your host family.

HOST FAMILIES are relatives, neighbors, or lifelong friends of our homestay director. Regardless, all families are monitored and continually evaluated. Host families provide all meals - except those included as part of the touring. Everyone speaks Spanish in the home.

DAY TWO – Granada /
Centro Historico walking tour and boat ride on Lake Cocibolca to view several of the 365 isletas, including monkey island. Following lunch, your is a special visit to a local school, where you’ll help the children with their homework or play games.

DAY THREE – Masaya Volcano & Souvenirs
Enjoy a short drive to Masaya, the richest crafts center in Central America. Famous for its restored 19th century open air artisan market, every street in Masaya's indigenous Monimbo neighborhood is home to at least one artisan workshop. Continue to Masaya Volcano National Park for your nocturnal tour. Watch parrots (in season) returning to their unusual home, Santiago`s active toxic crater. Learn about the history, geology and ecology of this particular volcano as you follow your guide into the heart of the earth through lava tubes, while three different species of bats fly over your head.




DAY FOUR – Mombacho /
Drive to Mombacho Cloud Forest Reserve, situated on top of the sleeping volcano. This reserve counts numerous flowers, bromeliads and orchids amongst its 800+ species of plant life. The volcanoes slopes are home to more than 500 howler monkeys. Hike the “Crater Trail”. This afternoon’s humanitarian is a visit the Nicaragua Libre Community project for an afternoon of volunteering.

DAY FIVE – Pueblos Blancos / Options
Enjoy a panoramic drive to the Pueblos Blancos. Your first stop is Catarina. This little village, known for its flowers and bamboo baskets, is a quiet town overlooking the Apoyo Crater Lake. Continue to San Juan de Oriente. The populace of this indigenous village has been making ceramics for more than 2,000 years and 85% of its population is working today in pottery production. Consider an optional tour such as Mombacho zip-lining ($65) or kayaking on Lake Nicaragua($50). Groups may also elect to visit a local project for a half-day of volunteering [no extra cost, Interact provides transportation and material]. Tonight, enjoy your dance interACTion, including Meringue and Reguetton.

DAY SIX – Montelimar Beach 2 Nights
Relax on your morning drive to the Pacific Coast at the four-star Barcelo Resort. Enjoy 4 pools, 700 hectares of tropical plants and a fine, sandy beach. All meals and non-alcoholic beverages are included.

DAY SEVEN – ¡Playa!
Resort facilities include two tennis courts, minigolf, gymnasium and free use of equipment for boogie boards and kayaking. All meals and non-alcoholic beverages are included.

DAY EIGHT – Return to USA
Early morning transfer to Managua’s International Airport for your return to the United States.
