DAY ONE - Costa Rica Homestay
Welcome to nature's wonderland! With over a quarter of its territory enjoying protection in the ever-growing network of national parks and reserves, Costa Rica is proud to share its unique natural heritage with you. Interact’s foreign representative will meet you in the airport lobby. Transfer to Guadalupe. Meet the homestay director and your host families.

YOUR HOST FAMILIES live near San Jose in cosmopolitan areas of Guadalupe, San Pedro, and Moravia. Host families are relatives, neighbors, or lifelong friends of our homestay directors. Regardless, all families are monitored and continually evaluated. Host families provide all meals - except those included as part of the touring. Everyone speaks Spanish in the home. Students normally share with one other group member of the same general language ability.

DAY TWO - Arenal Hot Springs
A delightful drive through the highlands leads to Arenal, Costa Rica's most active volcano. Your first stop is Zarcero, famous for its amazing animals sculpted from living Cypress trees. Travel past quaint towns before descending into the San Carlos plains. Lunch is included today. Visit a hot springs recreational area. Swim in one of nature's therapeutic pools, stroll the botanical gardens, and witness the spectacular fiery display from an observation point at sunset.

DAY THREE - Volunteer Project/Salsa
Your Homestay Director, who serves as a volunteer board member, coordinates this special activity at a local orphanage. Transportation and supplies are donated by Interact. You’ll have an opportunity to interact with the children while painting, gardening, etc. No experience necessary! Your host family provides packed lunch. Later, enjoy your dance , as you learn to salsa!

DAY FOUR - Rainforest Cruise/ Chocolate
Panoramic drive via exuberant Braulio Carrillo National Park. Upon arrival at the Sarapiqui River, cruise through the magnificent rainforest as you witness tropical birds, monkeys, sloth, lizards and caiman. Following lunch, participate in a unique chocolate .
